Dr. Benjamin Mandel is a Los Angeles–based ophthalmologist with over a decade of experience in cataract surgery, premium lens implantation, and comprehensive eye care. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, before completing his ophthalmology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School — training across five hospitals including Level I trauma centers.
What drew Dr. Mandel to ophthalmology was its rare combination: the precision of surgery alongside the continuity of patient relationships. He specializes in advanced and complicated cataract surgery, premium intraocular lens implantation, pterygium removal, and eyelid procedures.
Dr. Mandel is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi.
